Bodast

In May 1968, Steve Howe joined a band called Bodast. The group's name comprised of the first two letters of each of the names of the members put together. Bodast lasted until July 1969. Steve Howe was so loyal to the band that he turned down offers to join The Nice and Jethro Tull.

According to Close To The Edge: The Story of Yes, Bodast were the backing band for Chuck Berry at this gig. Steve Howe didn't play with them because Chuck said they didn't need him. Steve showed his guitar to Chuck, who described it as cool.
